That's a good idea too, and sometimes we use it...not a bad idea to tie a
spare line fast to the chair and use it to bring up any tools you forgot or
didn't anticipate you would need

I use the snap shackles all the time when going up the mast but I tape
them shut with several wraps of plastic electricians tape to make sure
that they don't open.
