Should the rudder resonate "hollow" in some areas.or should it sound solid

Hold everything .

Is your boat a C&C 24?

If it is then the rudder is deliberately designed with the holes in it & the
C&C manual states clearly that the holes are to be left open & kept open .

Is yours a 24? If so I'll get out my manual & type out the exact words.

A question to the list

When I purchased my C&C 10 yrs ago it had weeps holes on the rudder, one
just below the water line and one along the bottom edge

The seller never brought these to my attention and I sailed that season with
them open

I had dried out the rudder and "sealed" the holes a few years ago only to
find the rudder water logged again

My question is: is it normal to have to drill weep holes end of every
season and seal them every spring?

Is there ever a time that this does not have to be done?

Ruddered out
