Thanks for the speedy response. When I removed the hatch the first time, it
appeared to have been bedded in silicon.

Hammerhead (whose proprietor is a 20 year A&H veteran) recommends silicone
for bedding hatches using the method I described earlier.

Not sure what he uses for attaching the glass to the frame.
