{Stus-List} Replacing the Atomic in a 35-1

I replaced the Atomic 4 in my 35-1 about 10 years ago. The yard had to replace
both the shaft, and prop. The inside of the engine compartment also needed to be
rebuilt. I don't remember the cost, but it was worth every penny. I went with
Yanmar.

Don,

Don't know where you are so it is hard to recommend folks. We replaced our
Yanmar last year with a Beta marine engine and are very pleased with it.
They have A4 mounts available so that part should be easy. What size is your
shaft? My sister did an A4 replacement on her C&C 30 a few years ago and the
shaft had to be up sized. You may also need to look at replacing the prop.
The fuel tank probably only needs cleaning as long as it is Diesel
compatible and has the return fuel connection (though that can easily be
added if necessary).

I am considering replacing the Atomic 4 in my C&C35 -1 and would
appreciate the advice of those who have done this before.

In addition to the  motor changes,  I wonder about  any changes
required  to such areas as the  motor mounts, engine cave, strut, shaft
seal log  and prop. My fuel tank is a new plastic (polyester I think)
Would this work?

What is the realistic cost for all the parts? Any suggestions about what
company I should deal with?

Don
